About MIFC Referees

Each fall weekend approximately 50 games are played on Mercer Island FC fields. Half the games are small-sided recreational games (U08 - U11) and the others are recreational and select team games (U12 - U18). Mercer Island directly provides all the referees for all the small-sided games and U12 recreational games on Mercer Island. The 50 games each weekend require 70 referee positions (60 center referees (CRs) and 10 assistant referees (ARs). We could really use your help. We especially need ADULT referees. We will train you. Volunteer, email us today!

EKCSRA (East King County Referees Association) provides the referees for the other recreational games (U13-U19) and all the Select games. MIFC needs to provide referees to EKCSRA (through the Ref-In-Pool program) in order for them to give our games priority for referees.

Mercer Island FC Needs Referees!

Adults and Kids 13+ can referee and get paid. Great first job for youths; great way for adults to support their child's team.

Being a referee is one of the best things that soccer players and parents can do. You can help out your club, improve your knowledge of the game, and earn some spare change too. More youth and adult referees are needed, especially adult referees. Games are self-assigned based on your ability and availability.

The Eastside Youth Soccer Association (EYSA) of which Mercer Island FC is a member is also in need of referees. Each MI Select Team is required to add a Ref-In-Pool to the referee system. It's usually a parent who becomes the Ref-In-Pool for their child's team, but it can be any adult who is associated with the team.
